Candles & Strawberries

06/17/2013

We are like candles, beginning bright and full, burning lower over time, the light around us dimmer, our world smaller.

I dreamt of the old dog last night.

Shepard lab mix of a hound, black and tan trim, delicate steps on ground just turning to spring.

Could see her clear as crystal, patrolling the fence line out by the snap peas.

Though now, they grow there no more.

Her nose to the ground, casual like, just checking, you know.

Making sure.

Velvet ears half alert, tail relaxed.

She was never really much for the wag of the tail.

Except of course when she came to greet Mother.

Then it was,

“Oh, I’m so Happy to see you. Come let us visit a bit.”

Two old girls, gray and a bit weary from the journey.

Support hose and sturdy black shoes.

Resting on the edge of the step.

Sunlight like the breath of Angels.

Hi, 12 years, was kinda blogging before it was blogging.
I was doing a little menu that we emailed out every week when Barb & I started our catering business; half awake one day and just babbled some stuff.
      It just took off.
Our website designer, Melinda Stanfield at http://www.stonyhill-marketing.com, set up our new catering site in WordPress from Dreamweaver and we decided to add a youtube channel and a specific blog page as adjuncts to our catering site,
Wordpress is a great app, free to boot.
Warmest regards and thanks for reading,
      G
